Since moving
to Washington, DC in 1982, Paul Milesi has frequently been
called upon to play solo piano. The Democratic National Committee,
the Consumer Federation of America, and Vice President and Mrs. Gore
are among those who have enjoyed Paul's solo piano music at their
functions.
In December 1995,
Paul was one of eight pianists invited to perform at a "Rent
Party and Jazz Piano Cutting Contest" benefitting the National
Endowment for the Arts. Sponsored by Borders Books & Music of
Washington, DC, the Party also featured Marian McPartland, Stanley
Cowell, Barbara Carroll, Kenny Werner, Charles Covington, William
Knowles and Louis Scherr.
Paul has also played for receptions
in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts; in formal dining
rooms like the John Hay (Hay-Adams Hotel), the Willard Room (Willard
Inter-Continental Hotel), the Bombay Club, and City Club of Washington;
in first-class hotel lounges such as the Fairfax Bar at the Ritz-Carlton
and the Garden Terrace at the Four Seasons; at the French, German,
Italian and Russian embassies; and in some very elegant residences
. . . including that of the Vice President of the United States.
